Ink Sprite

Inksprite was created with the intention of helping new and aspiring writers to explore their potential and connect with a wider readership.

Our team of editors have a passion for literature, and a deep respect for the creative thought processes that go into making a successful article or short story. Inspiration strikes people in a myriad of different ways, and it is exciting to encounter new talent and witness the evolution of their work as our writers gain confidence and experience.

What is an Ink Sprite?

An ink sprite is the personification of imagination. In the same way that sprites of old were meant to be the spirits or personalities of bodies of water, rivers and trees, an ink sprite is created out of ideas set down in ink. Each new story or thought that is written feeds the sprite, giving it more perspectives and depth.

Our hope is that this website will be in its own way an ink sprite, and that as more people contribute and read from it, it will grow from a small shadow of a thought into a network of imaginings.

An ink sprite can take any form, we chose a wolf's head for ours, as the wolf is the unofficial symbol of Stirling, where we are based, and wolves can be found in the weather-vanes, iron work and carved into the architecture of the city.
